carpe diem!

so imagine you're fooling around with a three year old. running around, wrestling in the halls, chasing each other, this is all hypothetically speaking, and you pretend to push her and she actually pushes you back. not expecting such force to come from a three year old you bail.

picture it: slow-mo. going down. definitely going to eat the carpet, skinning your legs, elbow, and whacking your head on the wall. all the while making some sort of behemoth, or equivalent, noise. just like a gigantor alien falling from the sky, slowly, crashing down to earth and making an ungodly sound. in the background the sound of a small birdie's voice giggling uncontrollably and squealing "MOMMMY DOWWWWN"!!

you're totally getting that this is completely hypothetical, right? this can't possibly happen to anyone, let alone me.

shh! my ego is completely broken. &well don't ask to see the war wounds i will not show you, ever. kapeesh?

not only did this scenario not happen, it was the beginning of the end. it paved the road right through dinner onto bedtime and afterwards. at least here i sit. could be worst, right?

walk into the bathroom tonight after the nuggets get into bed; tidying up the towels etc from their showers. still steamy. look up and to my horror this is what i see...

not creepy at all, is it? thankfully after i screeched like i was the first person to die in a horror film. running up the stairs while the bad guy chases me as opposed to being completely logical and running outside where there are people, maybe people that could help me.
i gave myself a pep talk:

okay stacey. get it together, man!
you're on the top floor of an apartment building.
this is a completely flat wall.
not to mention, it's on the driveway.
many people drive there constantly.
wait, if it IS a peeper. props! must be the new-age
spiderman. hells ya!
i will reward them with peeping if they are in some way
heroic and have super stealth powers!

i'm okay. promise. took me a bit, but i think i have figured out that no, i am not being stalked by some creepy person. in fact, if you look closely - it's on the inside of the screen, which means. this is my hand.
hello hand i bid you adieu!

after cleaning up their mess, i decided it was my time for a shower.

are you still following?

believe me. i wish i didn't have this much to tell you tonight. it was supposed to be an easy day. it was a louloubirdie and mommy day. full of cleaning/laundry and her being a goofy goober.

see:

back to the previous story before getting derailed...

hop in the shower. i had a time limit -- it's totally thursday, good shows - yo!
hop in the shower, decide tonight is the night i finally buck up and mow my legs. dood they be beastly! i always follow the ideal that it's winter and i need to keep my legs warm, but at + temps, they're turning me into a liar. so i shaved, finally! get shampoo in my hair start washing my body down and i hear..

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! (you get the idea..)

well slap my ass and call me jenna jamieson, the firealarm is totally going off. so now i'm hopping OUT of the shower slathered in my lovely body wash, shampoo in my hair, me be starin' at the creepy hand print still in the window running down the hallway stark with a towel to unsound the alarm.
really?
reeeeeally?
this could only be the prequel to my failing reality tv show turned movie, right?

all bets are off. this shit has gone craaazy.

don't worry. no small babies were scarred for life during these unfortunate events and i promise nobody was roundhouse kicked in their junk. although, karma for some reason is kicking me in the junk tonight and ya it got me good!

i'll let you know i am now happily vegged on the couch watching some good ol' boob tube and best of all -- safe from any mishaps from happening.

this has all been brought to you from my broken, beatin', completely demolished ego. i need chocolate.

2012..bam!

entering 2012 like every other year.
inspiring thoughts and goals circling around my mind. repeating to myself over and over that i can accomplish any of these that i set and follow through. then my cute cynical side kicks in and they all fall by the waist side and i quickly remind myself that just like 85% of the rest of the world's population these will soon be forgotten.
|
when 2013 hits i'll wonder whatever happened to these goals and probably wonder what they even were. then alas! i shall remember this year i have a cold ass reminder that i actually jotted these suckers down, in a public forum, for many of my peers to remind and judge me that i said this and i'm doing that.

well touche, friends. touche!
i will write these goals. albeit vagueness will screech from these sentences of glorified perpetual goals, one of these will be completed by 2013.

ask me next year & you shall receive a good (may be grim) report that something was accomplished.

so here we go. you ready?
  1. i shall get dressed, in normal non-pajama type, clothing at least 3 days a week. hey! i'm aiming high peeps, but lets be realistic. i don't go anywhere!
  2. i will make better choices within my life and what i can control. food peeps, food. no, this is not i am goin g to be healthier and lose weight - but, i shall make the better choice if given that opportunity. kapeesh?
  3. i shall wear my hair down & different more often. i will not put a numerical amount of days per week on this one.
  4. start collecting board games & have a family game night with the kids.
  5. go out more often.
  6. use the word douchebag less when referring to baby daddy. hey! one can set high goals? amiright?
like i said, not getting into the socially acceptable stream of setting goals and then failing miserably. just not something i'm into - this practice is equal to going to the dentist for me. so maybe this in itself is setting a goal? haaa. we all know that if i promise to wear makeup more often or plan to go on vacation either alone or avec nuggets that will also fail, i'm a homebody and i don't have a lot of money oh and did i mention the fact that i'm socially inept when it comes to public speaking; meaning i don't pair well with the outside world and having to use my voice. i love my computer and i love being relaxed (some might confuse this with laziness). let's be honest, I probably won't even follow through with half of these we all know i love my messy bun and pajamas. duh!  this is just who i am. i'm okay with being me.

saturday's week in bb pics

this week was fantastical.
the sun was shining.
the air was nice and warm.
& we spent everyday at the beach/park.

toes in the sand.
repetitive sliding.
& picnicking at its best.

although i got burnt to a crisp,
& the kids were extra tired.
every minute spent,
totally worth it.

lou got rid of one cast,
gained another.
i learned how to use my sewing machine,
from my bestie, over the internet.

spent a great deal of time,
getting grammadukes gardens ready.
& enjoyed some ice cream,
from the ice cream shop.

overall,
the week in it's entirety.
awesomesauce.

 how was your week!?

ps. linking up with a good life today!

sunny days

the weather as of late has been equivalent to a bowl of supreme ben & jerrys ice cream on a hot day. it has been perfect. thanks to my aunt, i was delivered a shiny new wagon so we have wheels to get lou around. finally! cabin fever was starting to set in and we were starting to act like mickey mouse on the spin wheel before he was made into a disney character. intense. so what do you do with a shiny new wagon, the sun, and warmer temps? you go to the park, of course.

so that is what we have done. today? fabulous. we were gone -literally- all day. headed down to the park at the beach, walked up and got some slushies, and then headed down to my parents house. tons and tons of walking; soaking up the sun.

i, of course, had the biggest blonde moment - temporary lapse in judgement - and only had my phone on me. so you get phone pictures. epic picture taking fail. even more of a fail, i only got pictures of the end of our day throwing rocks at the rocky beach near grammadukes house.

& the way we're going with walking, i should be shedding off this excess baby weight that has been lingering 25yrs too long. (don't tell me my kids are only 3 & 4, i don't want to hear it) but alas, my 3rd and 4th ass is still following closely behind!

i hopes ya enjoyed the pics and talk tomorrow - srsly. i will be back tomorrow.

for your entertainment.

bask in the incredibly knowledgeable and witty children that i have. they not only teach you to love one another, they also show you how to poke/pinch/prod, try to over-shadow, and just plain act like fools.  loveable fools at that. don't mind the cat calls (me) in the background, i'd love to tell you that i normally don't sound like that, but i do. shh!

i knew, just KNEW, on this boring friday night that you're just like me and having nothing better to do with your friday night. so, youre thinking "stacey post another blog so i have something to entertain me". your requests overcame me and i answered your lonely friday night blues, all just for you! enjoy. teach your children (if they're around) not to try this at home, and if you're looking for new ways to sing songs - i got your back!

tell me that this video didn't just brighten your day and give you the power of knowledge? look at you, you now have ample lessons on how to integrate different songs together, and you quite possible could get a record deal learning these invaluable lessons.

ps. you have tonight and tomorrow left to get free advertising!

saturdays soapbox: weekly review

this week was a kerfluffle. yes, i said it, and i'm sticking with the word. it was a  busy mess. though tons accomplished, i felt like i didn't have time to blink! let alone sleep, spend quality time with my kids, and oh i dunno? keep up with housework. between turning my casa upside down getting ready for new carpet (woohoo no more cat smell!!!) putting it all back, myself, thanks assholes for leaving me to put everything back - then spending the evenings at my parents new place getting it ready for them to move into, it was just nuts. then i realized we had no food, so i did a huge grocery shop .. kick started the new 'clean eating' thanks to jess @ IROCKSOWHAT. it was expensive, but i didn't buy anything (but one thing) that was bad - i'm proud!

so before i ramble on like a crazed lunatic. Happy Easter Weekend! here's the week in review through blackberry photos.

fresh spaghetti sauce - from scratch. look i did it!
Quins belle hairbow made from ribbon thanks to a great friend!
changed their bedroom around.
changed their room around

they love it!

new haircut - handsome.
going out for a much needed mommy night (dinner with nat)
new carpet!

new carpet!
what happens when everyone leaves you to move heavy furniture alone.
happy easter to me!

weekly goals

generally i do these on monday morning, this week is off. we've already ventured down that road in my previous post. so. i'm going to jot down my goals for the week, and please partake. if you either blog about them or set them within yourself, share them with me. alright, GO!

{nutrition} i've been working diligently trying to get away from processed foods and i must say i'm doing pretty awesome, i'm actually feeling less bloated. i've been doing a lot of research (again check my previous post one of the books i checked out of the library) and teaching myself about eating healthy, locally, and what kinds of foods my body needs to be the healthiest it can. i  know i have a disease so i am not able to "diet" however, i can be healthy. and im loving drinking a little fresh sliced lemon in water. deeelish!

{exercise} i failed last week. epic fail. we walk, daily. as long as the weather allows us. however, i didn't partake in any EXTRA exercising activities. i do think that i am training for the strong man competition. grocery shopping and walking. HARD. i carried about 35lbs home. my arms were feeling the burn.

this week my plan is to continue the path i'm heading down. when the sun is shining there is nothing i'd rather do then be outside enjoying every minute of it with the kids. on our walk home today listening to the birds chirping was fabulous. i loved it!

{relationships} this week i'm going to continue working outside of the box and spending a little more special time with my nuggets. i know we're enjoying it. i feel the love. and their smiles melt my heart. i also am trying to expand this to my outside friends, being an introvert makes it extremely difficult to reach out to the people in your life outside of your front door.

{creativity} i've been cooking/baking up a storm, i have found inner-peace with this. i even revamped my baking cabinet. more healthy cooking and baking to ensue this week.

before

for some reason this is dark. but after!
{me-time} blogging has been my "me-time" sanctuary. i love this blogging community and feel extremely grateful that i've been welcomed with open arms. this weekend i hope to get out while the kids are visiting with their dad, and get some shopping done.

what is everyone else planning for the week? have any personal goals? i want to hear it!

playing catch-up

don't you worry my little pretties, i have not forgotten about ya's. i know that i did post yesterday, but i am totally off of my "schedule" and well, what does it look like if the first week i'm already screwing everything up. (haha, you better get used to it.. i tend to not follow exact plans. oops!) but hello the sun is shining!

once again woe is me, i'm feeling off. not sure what is going on, but i feel like i'm living in oompa loompa land. equipped with silly mirrors and a moving floor. even though i have some odd ailment, the kids and i are still doing random adventures. today was the library. want to talk about how scared i was perusing the library with these two. they are generally pretty well-mannered. but let's be honest; their still kids. so i imagined being THAT mum with THOSE kids whilst their running a muck ripping everything off of the walls screaming, and the scary librarian shushing us. quite the contrary, to my surprise they were extremely well-behaved and jumped right into the experience picking out books and movies to check out. they even loved sitting in the rocking chairs, reading books, and playing with the neat toys that the library had to offer. of course, k picked a batman comic book and an iSpy. lou-belle dora (as if anything else exists) and max & ruby. each got a movie as well.

then it was my turn. mommy taught them how to search for books through alphabetical order and through the numbers. k was a great help! it was then time to check out. much to my dismay ensue extremely curious children pushing buttons, opening doors, and pulling things off of the shelves. however, the librarian was great, she understood, she buzzed through all the books checking them out, and we were out of there.

these are the books i checked out, i can't wait to read!

i can't wait to get reading these.

after the library expedition. we started to head towards home. as we were walking downtown, we decided that we were hungry and hit up a pizza joint. the kids ate so well, and loved it! totally awesome for my thighs. haha, but as you know we walked so they counteract one another, right??? RIGHT??

we finally hit home and the kids were ready to relax. however -it's tuesday- that means it's family dinner night. so where did i end up? the kitchen. generally, i don't mind. but for some odd reason, i was not feeling the kitchen today. could be that i've spent the last two days in it, it seems. yesterday i made soup, pancake muffins, and some salad. today, i made noodle salad and some congo bars. (my camera died.. so no pic of my congo bars) and since i am the dishwasher i don't think i've ever done so many dishes in my life.

rotini noodles, mixed veggies, italian dressing - voila!
whilst i was busy in the kitchen acting like good ol' martha stewart, the kids were enjoying the sunshine on the porch with playdoh. if ya know me, i dispise playdoh. i don't want to interject in my children's learning and growing, however, playdoh is my arch nemesis. the messes it makes - ugh. it's like little doughy balls of satin! damn you and being so colourful and fun looking that you suck my children in one at a time wanting to play with you. you wreck my table, my carpet, my every.thing. but, haha, jokes on you. the porch is the easiest place to clean it up and we rocked you alllll afternoon. swept it off the balcony and bam, clean up done and happy nuggets. boo-yah. alright, i'm done - promise.

finally everyone arrived for tuesday night dinner. the kids watched tangled, destroyed the bedroom with toys and wrestled -as per usual- with gramma and poppa. but overall a great night with great food and lots of family time. look at me go, getting all sentimental.

now its bloggy-catch up and indulging it guilty tv pleasure. i need popcorn, stat! (guess i also need a microwave - shit shoot! forgot about that small tidbit of important information. jiffy-pop anyone??)
