saturdays soapbox

today's weather is a culmination of sucks at life and find another place to plague basically it's "stickin' it to the man" i am not amused. it isn't winter weather but it isn't spring weather. however, terrible weather. it needs to take a flying leap - fer reals.

i am so over it.

so in lieu of the horrendous weather, we've been chillaxin', watching movies, being lazy, yanno things you do when you're suffering from severe cabin fever. thankfully mr.man k is enjoying some much needed sleepover time with gramma dukes so it's just princess lulu and i - yay, that means no cabin fever wwf smack down is happening in this house.

so far, t oday, we've watched the new harry potter move - it was alright. we i cleaned house. then lulu decided it was imperative that charlie and sally (her madame alexander dolls) have a tea party and get dressed up.

so enter hgtv's newest show - operation reorganization: doll wardrobe edition. her madame alexander wardrobe was re-organized to look like the bees knees and miss charlie & miss sally were dazzled up in some tea party diggs. lou had a fabulous time, and its the first time - in her dramatically short life that she played with HER toys & played alone. gasp! could it be true? miss lululemon is finally acting like a normal three year old?

after she was tea partied out, she decided that a movie in my bed was fit for a princess (beauty and the beast) and was insistent on me taking pictures of her.

are you ready for the many faces of lu?

she cracks me up. what a silly girl! hahahaa!!
happy weekend!

saturdays soapbox

this week in a nutshell:

  • keyboard massacre brought to you by a sassy 4-yr old
  • first bonfire of 2011.
  • sickness - blaah, thanks mommadukes.
  • park playing.
  • bike riding (okay trying).
  • butter eating.
  • cupcake making.
  • mr man K's first drawing of meeee, he rocks my socks.
and finally..
  • couch cuddling.
it was a pretty meek and mild week. i was quite under the weather, and i did less blackberry picture taking than normal, however, i am doing a bb photo dump. "this week in pictures". enjoy and have a great, safe, and happy weekend. i know we're enjoying, fully!

saturday's soapbox (odds & ends)

last night we (momma dukes, aunties, friends, betches) went out. it was a total girl's night. hells ya! we headed out and hit up hooters. ha, it was awesome seeing a lot of creepy men googling at the waitresses oogles hanging out to google. hehehehee. quite interesting, enjoyed some drinks, enjoyed some wings, enjoyed talking about the most taboo subjects at the dinner table. but of course, we talked the shit crap out of them.

after eating grub and making the waitress blush, we hit up the bar to see ambush play. unannounced to me i was under the assumption that this was a rock band, no - this was not. it was country. although they played covers of some great rock bands, there was still a lot of country played. (now, before the country lovers pounce on me, i never said there was anything wrong with country, it's just not my cup'o'tea.)

it was a great night overall. i got to enjoy some me time, which comes rarely (and i'm not complaining, even last night being away i missed my nuggets). i love hanging with the ladies, even if it was bulldog night at the bar. (hahahaahahahaahaha!!!!!)

today. ugh. today has been a day from hell. no, i'm not hungover. last night i started feeling a headache coming on - blah. i don't get them often; ensue ginormous baby. i don't deal with head pain. give me kidney stones any day over a headache or tooth pain. (lol, don't laugh at me.) so today i have been holding the couch hostage while my lovely nuggets have wreaked havoc over my house, especially their bedroom. (womp.) wanna talk about a tornado? thankfully, they picked up to the best of their abilities. and now they're sleeping sound. (unfortunately, mr man k was complaining about his head hurting before bed...)

so now, i baked some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and am on here surfing the net. i don't mind, at all. my headache is subsiding so i'm checking out some of my favourite blogs, in blogland.

i changed my twitter, did some new fancy colours. swoon.

i'm am completely jealous that i don't live closer to AZ, i would love to be with a lot of my favourite bloggers at the AZBloggersMeetup some fabulous ladies will be there. (or are there, enjoying dinner, as i type this.)

i really love jen's blog. >here< on top of her beautiful daughter, great family - her style is pretty fantastic. faaaab.

a new bambino has sprung, he's beautiful! congrats!!

if you're into baking, at all. then you've heard of bakerella. she has the best ideas, and if you haven't heard her recent sad story that brought tears to my eyes, read it here. cheering for you and thinking of you through this entire process and extremely difficult roller coaster you're on. xx

this little piece of fabulous, couldn't get any cuter.  i would be so excited to bake, constantly. makes me giggle like a 5yr old. hehehe.

if you haven't checked out made by joel, you better get your ass butt over there, he has some fantastic ideas. he has "paper cities" sooo cool, and it's a great, simple way, for your beans to use their imagination with a ton of play. we'll be doing them this week! >here<

so that's all for me on this low-key saturday night folks. as i go, i've added a playlist, for your enjoyment.

Saturday Night and Changes

On the agenda tonight, isn't much of anything. I am that really super dorky cool chick that has such an amazing interesting quickly flying by weekend life that it's incredibly difficult to catch an update from me on the weekend. my weekends are jam packed. ha! ha! Okay, okay you can stop laughing now, i know i am a total fail.

I find it seemingly difficult to find any activities right now. up here in the great white tundra we are in that transition phase. the weather isn't as cold. however, mother nature can't make up her mind. she's on a 6-week hormonal roller coaster and she's ripping through every.single.weather.anomaly quite possible up here. (notice how i use up here, like i am so much further up on the globe than most? pretty sure being in southern Ontario i'm not really considered that far up, however, just being the top country of nothern america earns me the right. just sayin')

seriously. i've found myself stating many times in the past few days, make up your mind. one day i'm in a long sleeved shirt, running shoes, and were on adventure walks, the next we're experiencing a blizzard fully equipped with my toque, UGGs (hot right!?), mittens, and parka (jokes.), and then the next were having torrential rainfall warnings. clearly with all of this up and down weather, nothing seems appealing other than my rather comfy couch, comfortable yoga pants (i'm sure you're picturing me RIGHT now), the clicker in one hand, bb in the other, and of course my laptop sitting on my lap. kids sawin' logs in their beds. (who am i kidding mr.man K is clearly in my bed). watching some sort of mystery show, drug of choice tonight, 48 Hrs Mystery.

with all of that said, being home with my kiddos 24/7, the weekend doesn't really hold a significant meaning of much needed r&r. i do tend to make more plans on the weekends with my family as they do have jobs, however, i am an overly boring person. i fail in the social butterfly category. i prefer the term - socially inept.

today was quite fun. after our extremely fun girls night clearly i was exhausted. i didn't realize how old i feel now that i'm 25. you'd think gramma was here because i was a walking zombie today. we hit up walmart first, all kids in tow including my mom and sister. i had to get my lovely goggles repaired, afterward we descended upon rotten ronnies. grabbed some grub (yes, i know, terrible for me, but it tasted great!) and let the kids run ramped in the playplace (another epic fail, i didn't bring my camera). we were there for quite a few hours, i enjoyed a nice hot caramel sunday as did the kiddies then we came home. my couch has never looked better. i turned on a movie, layed on the couch, and woke up 3hrs later to my son watching tv on top of me (i'm a great cushion, lol), lulu passed out at the other end of the couch. (move over -  granny's moving in! haha!) i have no idea what is wrong with me. so again, here i sit watching 48hrs mystery and blogging. couldn't be happier, really. what a boring life i lead, but i love my friends in my computer. (if i start talking to myself and answering, please admit me to the local mental hospital).

i wanted to let everyone know that i'm working diligently on getting my page in working order. making it look top notch, and thanks to my BFF, nikki, she's helped me make some great buttons and quite possibly the sweetest header you've ever seen (i'm not biased at all!). feel free to add me to facebook, twitter, and bloglovin' and if you'd like to feature me on your blog or snag my button to link your peeps to me have at'er!

until tomorrow.

xx
