thursday thoughts on a friday

lately there has been some less than stellar happenings unfolding around me and all i can think about is blogging it. blogging helps to get it off of my chest & helps me make sense of a lot of the mumbo jumbo.
this past week there has been a few things that i just want to get off of my chest, however, i am afraid of the backlash of said problem that i would receive if i did let it out. especially on my corner of the interwebz.

so here i sit posing the question:

how do you blog about your life when it pertains to specific happenings without stepping on the people around you toes?

what do you do in your own space? do you spare details of actual situations to help save face. or, do you talk about it anyways to help counsel yourself?

i don't know where to go with this. this is my personal space to talk about everything that goes on in my life &the nuggets. good, bad, ugly, exciting; i want to share. share the abundance of info i tend to think i have to share. but is it worth sharing all details to help save relationships in said situations. i just don't know.

i think i need some mature bloggy friends to help me with insight as this amateur blogger is totally lost on this subject.

so for now, i won't discuss the problems that have arose as of late. however, i will share with you lou's lovely pizzazz that she calls her "trend". i diiiie, girl after my own heart with a much stronger personality. love her.

oh yes it's ladies night

as a single momma it is very rare that i get to have one on one time with uno nugget.
tonight lou & i got to enjoy time together. just the two of us.

now, what do two stylin' chickas do when it's one of the hottest days of the year?

well, we had a luxurious cold shower which included "under sea diving" in the tub. more or less, slip and slide in the bottom of the tub while she trips momma. but hey! it was fun, she enjoyed it. we gave ourselves a nice conditioning treatment, lathered up in some luscious smelling body wash, and while i was drying off lou got to enjoy a 'waterfall' and play with her beloved ponies.

afterwards, we made some dinner together, very light, as it's way to hot to use the oven. we enjoyed some ham & swiss on rye caraway seed bread followed by some rainbow sorbet for desert. yummo.

then it was time to paint our toesies, of course. let me tell you this is one of those moments i heart having a little girl. due to her extreme knack of independance she was particular in her colour choice for her toes & the little embellishment she was dead set on having. she has great taste as we now match, i wasn't arguing with her choice!

tonight was awesome & i feel absolutely blessed i'm able to partake in these nights of one on one time. secretly, lou & i miss mr man k, a ton. tomorrow night is another one on one, but this time it's mr man k & i off to his kindergarten (yes i went there people, can you believe it?) meet & greet! *pouts* i'm so excited for him but terrified all in the same thought. kindergarten? didn't i just give birth!!?

It's Girl Time!

Tonight has been one of the best nights i've had in a LONG time. My mom took mr.K for the night, great bonding time for K and Gramma Dukes. So I asked my niece to come over for a super extravaganza girl's night! Lulu and I made her an invitation.. ensue lots of smiles and screeches.

The invitation stated to bring your most comfortable nighty, a pair of comfortable slippers, her doll. Get ready to mow down on some popcorn and enjoy a tea party! Swoon at the idea of having a total girly evening!

All afternoon I prepped tea sandwiches (tuna) cut up a watermelon, and baked smartie (the Canadian chocolate)chocolate chip cookies from Our Best Bites. THEEEE.BEST.COOKIES.EVER!

While prepping, i made a delicious, mouth watering, succulent, nacho platter. be jealous. It was fab.u.lous! i cubed up chicken, put it in a pan with tex mex seasoning and red peppers.. then i put the chicken on top of sesame organic tortilla chips covering in cheddar cheese. baked the platter in the oven. added some salsa (homemade) and sour cream to the side. voila! rainbows and unicorns floating around creating euphoria in your mouth!

Finally, it was time to get our tea time on! How exciting! The girls had a blast!

During our tea party, my niece was having an extreme amount of fun being a "model". Dream big sweetie.

After our tea party, we made a ginormous, pillow filled, bed on the floor to watch some movies. of course, we picked a girly movie first. Mean Girls 2. After we watched Scooby Doo & the Curse of the Lake Monster.

Any bed that is made on the floor better be comfortable and full of pillows, in this case it's time to test out the comfort level, I mean, duuuh!! You HAVE to!

Shortly there after, it was time to crash, the girls laughed and giggled all night! it was so much fun revisiting that time in my life when there were no worries and it was cool to just be a girl. luckily for my son gramma dukes bailed him out of having to spend his evening with the girls. ha ha!!

It was a great night, and i can't wait to do it again. I love being a girl!
