2012..bam!

entering 2012 like every other year.
inspiring thoughts and goals circling around my mind. repeating to myself over and over that i can accomplish any of these that i set and follow through. then my cute cynical side kicks in and they all fall by the waist side and i quickly remind myself that just like 85% of the rest of the world's population these will soon be forgotten.
|
when 2013 hits i'll wonder whatever happened to these goals and probably wonder what they even were. then alas! i shall remember this year i have a cold ass reminder that i actually jotted these suckers down, in a public forum, for many of my peers to remind and judge me that i said this and i'm doing that.

well touche, friends. touche!
i will write these goals. albeit vagueness will screech from these sentences of glorified perpetual goals, one of these will be completed by 2013.

ask me next year & you shall receive a good (may be grim) report that something was accomplished.

so here we go. you ready?
  1. i shall get dressed, in normal non-pajama type, clothing at least 3 days a week. hey! i'm aiming high peeps, but lets be realistic. i don't go anywhere!
  2. i will make better choices within my life and what i can control. food peeps, food. no, this is not i am goin g to be healthier and lose weight - but, i shall make the better choice if given that opportunity. kapeesh?
  3. i shall wear my hair down & different more often. i will not put a numerical amount of days per week on this one.
  4. start collecting board games & have a family game night with the kids.
  5. go out more often.
  6. use the word douchebag less when referring to baby daddy. hey! one can set high goals? amiright?
like i said, not getting into the socially acceptable stream of setting goals and then failing miserably. just not something i'm into - this practice is equal to going to the dentist for me. so maybe this in itself is setting a goal? haaa. we all know that if i promise to wear makeup more often or plan to go on vacation either alone or avec nuggets that will also fail, i'm a homebody and i don't have a lot of money oh and did i mention the fact that i'm socially inept when it comes to public speaking; meaning i don't pair well with the outside world and having to use my voice. i love my computer and i love being relaxed (some might confuse this with laziness). let's be honest, I probably won't even follow through with half of these we all know i love my messy bun and pajamas. duh!  this is just who i am. i'm okay with being me.

meet mr man k

as most of you know, i have two nuggets. today is all about, mr man k aka kohen. he is my four year old bundle of energy.

resembling good ol' brad pitt, i must say my offspring is pretty good looking ;) okay okay don't hate, he really does resemble mr.pitt though. can you see it??!

mr man k is my sensitive ball of energy who is a certified mommas boy. let me tell you that i never ever thought i would be proud to have a mommas boy but secretly (okay maybe not so secretly) i loooove it. srsly. having a mommas boy makes me feel pretty special to be this little guys momma.

kohen has recently been diagnosed with a sensory stimuli problem & it just makes him that much more unique. he falls under the "exceptional/genius" category for his age &it's great to know that he is just high-functioning. he perceives the world at a different level than the rest of us. who knew that the ants in his pants were actually just that him being awesome! he can't sit still. he has a hard time behaving. &the best part of this you ask? this does not make my child a "bad" child. my recent fear while signing him up for kindergarten & realizing that i was sending him into a shark tank.

we have been testing him with a development specialist & finding all of these quirky things that make up my spirited child. this has empowered me to speak about this to everyone. there is nothing worst, in my eyes, than labelling a child in school. to me, school is fantastic - i want my children to love it as much as i did. but how do you give your child the best running chance when they do the opposite as what the mold says they should do?

i will get into this more in the future, as i become educated. however, i wanted to touch on this as this is my post about k. isn't he awesomesauce? i think so.

k loves cars, trains, & anything that "goes". he is a boys boy. loves getting dirty, exploring the world around him, & i love that he is super sensitive and emotional. he has enough emotion for everyone around him & that makes him, k. he loves to learn, loves to colour, &loves to bust a move.

every one of these traits makes up the super-fantastic boy that i feel lucky to call my son.

blast from the past

my parents recently moved into a new house
& while unpacking we came across a tiny,
disheveled, photo album filled with an abundance
of blasts from my past.

mostly pictures from prom.

wow. talk about memories.
prom was one of those times
that i'm extremely thankful i had the
opportunity to experience.

great friends, great memories,
great times all around.
&the best part,
even though a lot of the people i spent it
with i don't talk to very often, i know that i
got to make a memories of a lifetime
&share that with them.
i'm a lucky girl.

i only shared a couple. i didn't want to post them all
as i didn't have time to get permission from the others.
so i just have the two.

to my awesome date, t.
if you see this, sorry.
thought anyone that i went to prom with would enjoy
seeing these and reliving the memories through these pictures.

&friends, if you read this and want me to add the rest.
just let me know.

ps. the pictures are blurry due to being as i took a picture of the picture with my bb..lol

danger waves & kinder orientation; oh my!

today was a scorcher yaaa-freaking-hooo! i looove this weather. yes, i'm looney & heart hot weather.
how do you spend a day in hot weather? in the water. duuuuh. so the my sister, the kids & i all loaded everything up & headed to grammas house.

when we arrived at grammas, the kids were antsy and impatient to head over to pebble beach and go swimming. so we went. of course, we were disappointed because the waves were crashing and i mean crashing hard. looked like a bad storm in the little mermaid. so amongst the wailing of disappointment we quickly decided to head to a private beach down the street.

the waves crashing against us were too cool. mr man k screeched at the top of his lungs the.entire.time. he was actually scared, sounds awful but i couldn't do anything but giggle. he sounded hilarious. of course he warmed up to the idea as soon as we were ready to head home... lol. kids! haha

we finally headed home, the nuggets were bathed, we put up the trampoline, made some dinner, & then it was time to come home & change to head over to the school for k's kinder orientation. *pouts* i am not ready! didn't i just birth him not too long ago?

it went fantastic, he was so excited & loved every minute. we walked home & he carried his bag full of goodies that he received and was super stoked to show gramma everything he got and gave her the picture he made. my little man is growing - don't i get a say in this whole growing situation?

it's meee!

i'm back, did ya miss me?
between blogger's ridiculous antics, my extreme busy life, & being out of town. blogging was just last on the list, even though, if you can't tell, i missed you all. i kept having "oo i should blog this" moments during the last few days, but none-the-less blogging clearly never happened. not to mention the fact that i'm feeling extremely close to brain-dead status. i brought my laptop with me, forgot my internet stick. fail. & forgot my blackberry charger, again fail.

alas, i am here, and don't you fret my friends i have a bucket full of sunshine to share with you. my oma, ohhh my lovely oma is back and in action from florida. she's the hippest 75yr old woman you will ever meet. imagine classic golden girls and you have the bees knees of omas all fit into a tiny little body of complete rad sarcasm you'll ever see in.your.life. i mean, i do get my awesomesauce from somewhere - duuuuh.

we headed out last week after the weather was less than stellar..

oo! i didn't share this.

**news flash**
lou is officially cast free! rock on. my arms are tiiired and my heart can finally stop hurting from watching her poor little legs walk funny with that overly large cast in tow.

anywho, after her cast appointment we headed straight down to my omas house to spend some great time with her & i wanted to help her get things out after being gone for 6 months. she's a migrator. spends half the year down south to enjoy the sun then heads back up to the great white tundra for the warm months here. she gets the best of both worlds. can you say jealous?

it was a lot of running, running, did i mention running? she had a ton of errands & i'm glad that the nuggets and i got to spend some great quality time with her whilst she ran like a peacock on a mission. its awesome browsing all of the treasures of her house, she has all of these amazing artifacts, objects that were given to her, and things collected along the way. amongst these amazing treasures, pictures of my adorable young self.

friday night two of my aunties came, we had pizza, gabbed, and had a grand ole time. srsly. i love spending time with my family when it's so light and free. the remainder of the weekend my aunt & i hung out together at omas. made some of my homemade salsa (btw i  finally  found cock sauce!!!) cooked some yummy grub, the kids watched a movie, & just hung out. sunday the nuggets & i headed homeward bound.

i don't think i've ever missed my house so much in my life. i love visiting, but how i missed my bed & everything in my house. plus, the nuggets finally have their things back and aren't shoved so far up me arse.

it was honestly a great time. & stealing these incredible moments with oma are fantastic. my aunt & i discussed the fact that i can't see life without oma in it, and as she inches up the age scale i still can't see it. my auntie agreed. there is only one oma on this earth, and she's a pretty fantastic lady! i hope i'm at least half as cool as her. she's the shizz.

our day

our day today..
well. it started out with me thinking that we were on day 9 of the so-called end of the world armageddon. full of craptastic weather. i don't know how you peeps do it in places where it rains all of the time, i was starting to feel like i needed a straight jacket. i love my humble abode, but i can only stare at the same walls for so long before i start going berserk. my nuggets? the same. bouncing off of the walls became a regular occurrence in our household. these tactics in my house; no bueno.

well the weather surprised us today. turned out to be a beautiful sunny warm day. woohoo! it's only natural that we spend every minute in the sun that we can before it turns hormonal again. lest we take advantage of the impending beautiful weather & appreciate what we have that day.

the looks on the nuggets faces were hilarious. loud chants of "we see sun! we see sun!" filled our front balcony and they were elated that they could finally play outside. sidewalk chalk, anyone?

how was your part of the world? do anything fun &interesting?

hi blog, it's meeeee stacey...

my poor corner of the interwebs, i have to dust the cob webs off of you. were you fed? did my fans play paula dean and keep you fattened whilst i was away? this last week was even more of a kerfluffle than last week. holy batman, i didn't even think that were possible, but here i sit proving myself wrong.

write off.

that's pretty much how i will explain it. if you were captain hook and i were peter pan you would have pushed me off the plank and there would be no happy ending. srsly.

i won't go into a rant as i was doing things that i was happy doing. helping my parents move, their new house - beautiful. but flipping a house in 2 weeks including moving into it, however possible, ex.haust.ing.

it's now done and over with, and the granbabies are all overly destroying enjoying it, us adults as well. i was hoping to get this week back on track. into our routine. yanno, act a little less like heathens more like stand-up citizens of our surrounding population. whomp.

yesterday, i was looking oh so forward to my routine 6-week juice up. maybe give me a little boost of speed, something, to help with the routine make-over. i sent gramma shopping with the kids to get lou some new spring clothes since she got the wrong elixer and instead of  honey i shrunk the kid, she got honey i blew up the kid. so they went and did some fun bonding. shopped until they dropped - no pun intended.

when i went to get in the truck after my infusion - the first words out of gramma dukes mouth were  "i think lou broke her leg" ... uh? come again? i think my ears just faulted me, did you just say her leg is broken?

my ears did not fail me, she repeated herself. UM what happened!!???? thankfully, puddin' was sleeping so we headed back to our town. we got out at the movie store and i wanted to see if she'd put weight on her leg- no bueno. off to the hospital we went, my mom explaining the story to me on the way..

which went something like this...

they were strollin' along, browsing racks at un-named store - lou in the seat, k on the end. k jumps off, the cart goes ass over tea kettle, lou going face first into the ground. (mamadukes had prior issues with the cart tipping) mamadukes whom is right at the cart and felt her face skin her leg quickly picks her up with her IN the cart and immediately starts cuddling her. takes her out and leaves the store. when they get to the truck she's bending her leg checking it out, nothing. so she tried standing her up - well smack my ass and call me stacey, it was.not.happening. she couldn't bare any weight on it whatsoever. ugg. so mamadukes puts her in her carseat and comes to pick me up.. and were back to my surprise getting into the truck.

so i get her registered into the hospital and they take me back with her immediately (service with a smile, minus the big mac) the doc is there waiting for me. - ohmygod am i in trouble? they're never work this fast - they check her out, ripping her leg to a fro, and she's like nooo peeps, it hurts RIGHT here!!! pointing to a little tiny bruise on her right shin. so the doc is like, nope not broken - i bet she just got scared, lets try walking her to get a popsicle. so down she went.. nurse holding one hand, me holding the other. a popsicle didn't even make the cut of enticing her to put weight on her leg. it just was not happening. so they whisked us off to xray. (heart starts sinking)

quick pictures, and back to the bed. i hear the doctor say "wow! i would have never guessed i would be looking at this" so i lean over and catch the nurses eye where she smiles at me and mouths "it is broken". tears immediately came to my eyes. lou saying "can i have another popsicle momma?"

why doc, why!? why would you tell me that there is no way it's broken?

miss lou is clearly a martre!  this child has a broken right tibia halfway between the knee and ankle. dear jesus, what just happened? are you freakin kidding me???? she was so happy. singing her abc's eating every.single.popsicle each and every nurse brought to her. announcing to everyone walking by she was in a carT accident. me - dead.

so, she's casted. baby casted. her entire leg covered in big fat white plaster. graffitied to the nines by her loving family, and shes carried around like king tut, proud as a peacock of her cool new battle wound. showing everybody and announcing at the top of her lungs what happened. remember: she was in a carT accident.

i'm exhausted, wondering when i'm going to get a rest - uh never. my poor body is in overdrive and my brain/mouth are not in unison, pretty sure the ramblings coming out of my mouth are spews of broken english. i promise, i am canadian and 100% english speaking, but if you see me right now.. i am making up my own language a little pirate, maybe a tid bit of english, a little jibberish, fancy talk thankyouverymuch.

so that's us, in a nutshell. i am now a professional waiter. waiting on quincess, whom is enjoying her new found crown. loving and hating every minute. she's driving me to drink. teaching her to be high maintenance was a bad thing, very bad thing. siiiiiiiiiigh. and the little bugger has already learned how to scoot around, and she's quick. she couldn't give me 48hrs of somber.
