carpe diem!

so imagine you're fooling around with a three year old. running around, wrestling in the halls, chasing each other, this is all hypothetically speaking, and you pretend to push her and she actually pushes you back. not expecting such force to come from a three year old you bail.

picture it: slow-mo. going down. definitely going to eat the carpet, skinning your legs, elbow, and whacking your head on the wall. all the while making some sort of behemoth, or equivalent, noise. just like a gigantor alien falling from the sky, slowly, crashing down to earth and making an ungodly sound. in the background the sound of a small birdie's voice giggling uncontrollably and squealing "MOMMMY DOWWWWN"!!

you're totally getting that this is completely hypothetical, right? this can't possibly happen to anyone, let alone me.

shh! my ego is completely broken. &well don't ask to see the war wounds i will not show you, ever. kapeesh?

not only did this scenario not happen, it was the beginning of the end. it paved the road right through dinner onto bedtime and afterwards. at least here i sit. could be worst, right?

walk into the bathroom tonight after the nuggets get into bed; tidying up the towels etc from their showers. still steamy. look up and to my horror this is what i see...

not creepy at all, is it? thankfully after i screeched like i was the first person to die in a horror film. running up the stairs while the bad guy chases me as opposed to being completely logical and running outside where there are people, maybe people that could help me.
i gave myself a pep talk:

okay stacey. get it together, man!
you're on the top floor of an apartment building.
this is a completely flat wall.
not to mention, it's on the driveway.
many people drive there constantly.
wait, if it IS a peeper. props! must be the new-age
spiderman. hells ya!
i will reward them with peeping if they are in some way
heroic and have super stealth powers!

i'm okay. promise. took me a bit, but i think i have figured out that no, i am not being stalked by some creepy person. in fact, if you look closely - it's on the inside of the screen, which means. this is my hand.
hello hand i bid you adieu!

after cleaning up their mess, i decided it was my time for a shower.

are you still following?

believe me. i wish i didn't have this much to tell you tonight. it was supposed to be an easy day. it was a louloubirdie and mommy day. full of cleaning/laundry and her being a goofy goober.

see:

back to the previous story before getting derailed...

hop in the shower. i had a time limit -- it's totally thursday, good shows - yo!
hop in the shower, decide tonight is the night i finally buck up and mow my legs. dood they be beastly! i always follow the ideal that it's winter and i need to keep my legs warm, but at + temps, they're turning me into a liar. so i shaved, finally! get shampoo in my hair start washing my body down and i hear..

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! (you get the idea..)

well slap my ass and call me jenna jamieson, the firealarm is totally going off. so now i'm hopping OUT of the shower slathered in my lovely body wash, shampoo in my hair, me be starin' at the creepy hand print still in the window running down the hallway stark with a towel to unsound the alarm.
really?
reeeeeally?
this could only be the prequel to my failing reality tv show turned movie, right?

all bets are off. this shit has gone craaazy.

don't worry. no small babies were scarred for life during these unfortunate events and i promise nobody was roundhouse kicked in their junk. although, karma for some reason is kicking me in the junk tonight and ya it got me good!

i'll let you know i am now happily vegged on the couch watching some good ol' boob tube and best of all -- safe from any mishaps from happening.

this has all been brought to you from my broken, beatin', completely demolished ego. i need chocolate.

it's monday.

well good evening, fancy meeting you back here again.

today was filled with a grumpy mommy moments. allergies have officially kicked my ass. &I am no longer able to be stronger than them. seriously they are taking over. this morning was started with a shot of nose spray in the eye and a mouth almost four year old. after some java i felt a bit better and then i slept most of the afternoon. my nuggets love their momma and watched a movie while i dozed. love these days. <3 at one point lou even tucked me in and i woke up to kohen rubbing my forehead *swoon*.

kohen is back to school tomorrow, woot! he is totally ready as am i. i like the consistent schedule and i think he's missing it as well. Also, lou and i get to have girly quiet time. i think baking is in order for tomorrow since i got nothing done today!

tonight was full of pizza eating, pj wearing, tv watching and boy was all of it fantastic. pretty sure we need these days sometimes.

of course, i didn't take a single picture today.

but, i forgot to share this beauty with you!

kohen's christmas gift to me he made at school. i love that kid. fer reals.

goodnight my friends.

brain's overheating

there has been numerous occasions in which i have started writing blurbs rants about my baby daddy drama and how there are moments i loathe the air he breathes. however, i am that person, no guts. i stop myself and quietly reprimand myself for even thinking that it was remotely alright to air my dirty laundry.

but why isn't it?

i think that my biggest reasoning is that one day my children will be old enough to read and i would like them to find my blog and it be well-received. i guess out of respect for them and the fact that he happens to be their father i should treat him how they'd expect me to. so for now, i bite my lip & move forward without dousing the internets with my extreme sailor's tongue and diarrhea of the mouth.

this weekend was none other than kid-free. i enjoy my time for just me, but i miss the nuggs a lot. a lot can't even describe it. although mentally it is definitely needed, i hate when they aren't in their own home; sleeping in their own beds; playing with their toys that lay dormant while they aren't home. they do come home with tales of excitement. i guess hindsight is 50/50.

michelle and i discussed today my feelings on how my children spend most of their time with my exes wife's family. they seem to spend more time there than at their dad's house. at first i thought i had a problem with it. however, now i find myself thinking quite differently. i actually think the nuggets are pretty lucky to have such a stable and large group of loving people surrounding them. pretty special if you ask me. i am 100% for them having his wife's parents in their life as long as it's healthy; so far so good. who was it that said it takes a village to raise a child? i guess the saying is true. my children definitely have many people helping to shape who they are whether they are directly related or not. all are considered their family.

i was happy to receive them back tonight. of course they stayed up late and even though they were playing and enjoying the items they missed while they were gone it felt good that the silence was broken and toys were no longer dormant.

bedtime was a chore as it generally is the night they come home. lots of drama with lou. but it's safe to say they are sleeping soundly and this is me signing off for the night.
until tomorrow.
louloubirdie before bedtime. ballerincess ;)

baking extravaganza

for the love of martha stewart - today was a baking extravaganza. &lemme tell you. nothing was left unturned or unbaked. we were machines.

the nuggets and i headed to my parents this afternoon where my sister and niece was ready to go betty crocker and rock out some great treats. we totally did.

on the agenda:
mud pies
no-bake cheesecake
chocochip cookies
lemon bars
apple crisp

we knocked it out of the park and indulged hardcore after supper.
once the nuggets and i got home i decided that good ol' betsy (my yellow, did i mention yellow, kitchenaid) needed some love. so i made >this<.

heaven. holy heaven. smells absolutely deeeevine.
whipped it up in no time (thank you kitchenaid) and now i want to eat it like 5 seconds ago.
until breakfast tomorrow.. i leave you with pictures.

so long sweet summer

as the summer comes to a close and school starts back up on tuesday, we thought it necessary to have a day full of nothing else but bike riding. now that kohen is on 2-wheels he eat, sleeps, breathes riding his bike. sometimes i wonder how is legs work as fast as they do, but alas! they move like little rockets &we won't get into the amount of heart attacks i endure daily watching him on his bike. however: thus far he has made out scarless, without bruises, and has saved his face. so far, so good!

of course it wouldn't be a bender without my nieces. those four are pretty much like siblings. they are pretty lucky to grow up so close to their cousins, i hope that they keep those relationships strong for life. those are the types of relationships they need to keep and cherish for life.

good luck next week to all of the nuggets heading back to school, i hope that this year is a great year for them! i know that this being kmans first year, i hope he has an amazing time. i miss school, call me crazy but school was the bees knees.

thursday thoughts

as i sit here sipping an iced cappuccino with a french vanilla flavour shot sans kids, and sitting in our local coffee shop i am going over the fantastic summer that the kids and I have had. &how thankful i am that we were able to have fun, we might not have had a posh vaca and my kids can't say we left the country; let alone the province. but we can say that we enjoyed each day to the fullest & spent tons of time together.

it's no secret that i am struggling with the fact that kohen is heading to school this year. junior kindergarten? where the hell did the time go? all that i wanted when i had summer in mind was to have a summer that kman can say he had theee best summer & was excited to tell everyone about it.

making memories, isn't that what it's all about?

well i am proud to announce that kman & louloubird have exclaimed that this was the best summer ever. everyday filled with making memories. the beach, park, splash pad, train rides to the city, visiting friends new and old, and lots of camping excursions. YES! i went camping; numerous times in fact. shhh!  i may or may not have actually enjoyed it! ha ha!

when asking kman this morning what the best part of his summer has been, the first words out of his mouth were: "when we went to the beach and watched a movie! do you remember that we had to leave because there was a storm and we laughed all of the way home? that was pretty funny mom, wasn't it!" i diiiiiiiiiiiie! yes, he is all mine & i'm proud. i didn't spend copious amounts of money or take them anywhere outside of our little town, but it made the book of best possible activities, ever, in his eyes.

when loubird was asked "we rode the train, remember mom? we got to visit ava & go on a boat to an island and brother cried, remember! he said he couldn't walk anymore!" hahahahaha. isn't she sweet? her brother responded with "i didn't cry sis, you're lying!" then it went into battle royale; momma won!

i think i may have possible endured one of the best and most memorable times in my life, and most of it was free. can't say i'm complaining. every last minute spent with my nuggets and family & even better i was able to share it with all of you, my readers. i am so happy that this summer turned out to be exactly what i was looking for &what i apparently needed for my psyche. now it's time to welcome the fall, my favourite time of year. parades, apple/pumpkin picking, cute outfits, school, and the beautiful colours around us (look for pics).

how was your summer?
